Attach a bibliography documenting your research. Use correct bibliographical forms, including those for the internet. If you do not understand what is meant by "correct bibliographic format," please consult the NLC Writing Center.

Note: Please use your best academic writing. Organize your thoughts carefully. Do not use first person. Remember that works of art are underlined or appear in italics.
Please visit the Writing Center

An additional helpful source is A Short Guide to Writing About Art (Sixth Edition) by Sylvan Barnet (ISBN 0-321-04605-6). This book is available in our North Lake Community Library (http://www.northlakecollege.edu/nlcl/library.htm).

A few on-line help links are available on this web site: http://www.chrisfulmerart.com/nlcart/links/research.htm

Plagiarism is not acceptable: All quotes must be properly punctuated and documented. Please see the college catalog's Code of Conduct for a definition of "plagiarism." This includes internet sites!

A word or two about internet research: The internet is quick and immediate. Unfortunately, the information that "pops up" in internet searches is often cursory. It usually does not reflect the academic depth needed to write a quality paper. If you do use the internet for part of your research, make sure you are using an academic source and that your bibliographical entries are correctly documented. The best source of academic internet research is available through the data bases provided by our North Lake Community Library (http://www.northlakecollege.edu/nlcl/library.htm) .

One final word: Do NOT copy and paste internet findings into your paper!

To Turn In: Preferred: Email to cfulmer@dcccd.edu by midnight on the due date. It is best to paste the text of your paper into the email itself as well as attaching the document.
