Conduct for Gallery Visits Do not touch the art.Do not take photographs without asking permission.Be courteous.Do not eat or drink.Remember that commercial galleries are open for business. Do not engage in behaviors that would impair sales.Be respectful of the art -- even if you do not like it!Use a pencil rather than a pen to complete your Gallery Experience worksheet. The red dots next to the art in galleries mean that that art piece has been sold. A blue dot means that a sale is pending. Price lists are usually posted separately from the art -- either on a sheet left near the entrance or pinned to the wall. Many galleries have a black binder that includes more information about the artist.Sign the guest book if one is available if you would like to be placed on the mailing list.Thank the gallery attendant when you leave. |
