2D Design Supplies

Note: Advanced 2D Design Students need to purchase supplies appropriate to the ideas and techniques needed to fulfill individual expression of design solutions.

Supplies

A supply kit is available for purchase in the NLC Bookstore. It includes all required supplies except for the matting requirements.

2D Design Supplies

A supply kit is available for purchase in the NLC Bookstore. It includes all required supplies except for the items listed below.

In addition you will need to purchase
" mat board (2 or 3 sheets) (in white or off-white) (available at the NLC Bookstore, Hobby Lobby, Aaron Brothers, Michaels, etc)
" backing board (foamcore or corrugated cardboard)
" clear packing tape
" cup for painting (paper cup is fine)
" palette for painting (Styrofoam plates are fine)

Not Required, Optional Supplies

Colored felt pens/markers of various colors and widths

variety of black and white media like pastels, finger paints, ink, conte crayons, charcoal, oil pastels, stamp pads, shoe polish, latex house paint, liquid paper pen, tempera paint, crayons, and graphites

change for copy machine

 

MATBOARD

Blick Pebble Board
Cream one side, white other side, with gray core. Pebble surface on both sides.
Minimum order is ten sheets, plus shipping. (about $8 for FedEx 48 hour shipping)= about $36

This matboard is the correct size for drawings that are 16" x 22", which is the size of the 18"x24" drawing pad paper with a one inch edge allowance. This allows for a 3" border on the mat with no left-over, unused mat.
