The back surface of the art piece is wooden panel upon which a textured surface is applied. This surface is topped with multiple layers of water-soluble color: acrylic glazes, water-soluble crayons, water-soluble graphite, and wood stains.

The center square is a raised piece of corrugated cardboard which has been collaged with found papers and with drawings.
